Official Statement from Kenny Winter:
A Big Hello to all
EXCITER fans worldwide! I want to take a moment to thank John, Clammy and Rik for their support and for the opportunity that has been given to me to perpetuate the legacy of EXCITER. I also want to thank all the fans that have expressed their salutations and support without even having heard my voice.
Your acceptance has been overwhelming (literally)!
I have become aware that there are fans out there that are concerned and/or skeptical about the upcoming album and the direction that it might take with me at the mic. Believe me guys, I know I have big shoes to fill. To follow in the footsteps of Dan and Jacques will be no easy task, but I intend to storm every continent with the confidence and conviction of an electrical storm.
Make No Mistake… I-AM-METAL!!!
Sincerely,
Kenny Winter

To all EXCITER  Fans and Supporters,
For the the 3rd time in 10 years, Jacques Belanger has quit
EXCITER . Due to "differences of opinion' on many issues between Jacques and the rest of the band, he felt he could no longer continue as vocalist for EXCITER .
We are currently exploring our options but, we have, regretably, had to cancel shows in Europe, the USA and Canada that we had scheduled or been working on for this summer.
The writing for the new CD is complete and we have 10 new songs to record, but we`ll have to find the voice to sing on these ripping new tracks first.
EXCITER  would like to thank all the die-hard fans, throughout the globe, who have supported us for many years.
The
EXCITER  legacy will continue !

Official EXCITER statement
First of all, I would like to thank Black Abyss and Steel Attack. Touring with them was a blast. I would like to thank the support crew, Hendrik, Mario and Spray for the constant hard work and their professionalism. I would also like to thank the fans who attended every single show. They were fantastic, and we want to return to see them as soon as possible.
On the other hand, we had to cancel the show in Vosselaar, Belgium, and I would like to apologize to the fans who planned to see us there. I got some bad news from an ear, nose and throat specialist in Germany. He explained that my vocal cords would need to be looked at and would require surgery as soon as I get back to Canada. Everybody can easily understand that my vocal cords cannot be replaced like any other instrument, so I cannot afford to take any further risk; that is why Exciter was forced to cancel the last show of the European tour. All necessary things are being done at the moment, and I promise that I will provide updates as soon as they are available.
Keep in touch,
Jacques Belanger - EXCITER

EXCITER Hit The Studio For Covers Record!
EXCITER guitarist John Ricci contacted BW&BK recently regarding their forthcoming, as-yet-untitled, covers album that they are presently recording at L.S. Studios in Ottawa with producer Manfred Leidecker. Ricci says that 16 rerecorded tracks (ten classic, five current) from all eras of Exciter make up the album, due out through Osmose in January. The band are expected to be in the studio until the end of October.
The band are recording the following tracks: Oblivion II (new track), 'Violence & Force', 'Stand Up And Fight', 'Heavy Metal Maniac', 'Pounding Metal', 'Dark Command', 'Ritual Death', 'Long Live The Loud', 'Victims Of Sacrifice', 'Brutal Warning', 'Rising Of The Dead', 'Black Witch (featuring Ricci's 12-string classical guitar intro), 'Rain Of Terror', 'I Am The Beast', 'Burn At The Stake' and 'Rule With An Iron Fist'.
Ricci says that the record has "better production and is more pleasurable to listen to" than their early records. He says that the "songs have new life." Ricci is taking care of all the guitar and bass duties. The remaining current lineup includes singer Jacque Belanger and drummer Rick Charron. Exciter are currently reviewing 2004 festival offers from such overseas events as Wacken Open Air (Wacken, Germany), EuroRock (Neerpelt, Belgium) and Metal Daze (Pratteln, Switzerland).

Former EXCITER vocalist/frontman Jacques Belanger has re-joined the band, after a 1 1/2 year absence.
As a result, Rob Degroot, who joined EXCITER in the fall of 2002 is no longer the band's vocalist, due to the fact, the band felt that he was not progressing and adapting to EXCITER 's signature style. EXCITER is writing new material and are looking foward to playing shows, this year, in Europe and USA.

EXCITER NEW LINE UP
The band has a new vocalist, Rob Degroot and a new bassist, Paul Champagne, completing the line-up with John Ricci and Rik Charron.
The band is currently writing new material, heavy and aggressive in the EXCITER tradition. Intense rehearsals have started for live shows due to the fact the band has been receiving invites to play shows in USA and Europe.

  19/07/2002

After months of being dormant since Jacques's departure back in September, EXCITER has regrouped. A couple of months ago, we've put the word out that we're searching for a new vocalist. This has generated interest from singers worldwide. Countries such as Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Canada, USA and Brazil. All candidates will be listened to and then our decision will be made for who the new EXCITER frontman will be.
Till then, KEEP ON POUNDING!!!!
