have fulfilled their 3 album recording contract with Osmose
Productions. The band decided not to renew the deal and their new
record label home will be announced very shortly. Comments
founding member Ashmedi: “After
circa 8 years with Osmose Productions we feel this is the right
time to move on. This does not change our high opinion of this
cult record company who truly does a good old fashioned A&R
work and builds bands over the course of time. I on behalf of
MELECHESH
extend our best wishes to Osmose Productions and their
staff, especially Herve and Nicolas, who have become with the
years people we can call our friends; we also extend our regards and appreciation

: We were quite stunned to hear the news of this tour's cancellation, we actually declined other tour offers to make this one all the more special. Our guitar player, Moloch, who is currently residing in Virginia, USA was about to board the airplane and head to Europe when we heard the news. We looked forward to this tour and to giving 100% also we invested a lot of time in preparing for it. I don't know what else to say other than we feel disappointed and we apologize to all the people who were looking forward to this tour. We also looked forward to touring with, among others, ENSLAVED and KEEP OF KALESSIN and GOATWHORE. But such things remind me why we always were reluctant to do shows. "For now the only confirmed European dates are the festivals (Earthshaker, Metal Mean, Party.San, Hole In the Sky) and we are currently working on a north American tour to support the release of our 'Emissaries' album."

| Invoking the Emissaries MELECHESH to record their 4th album The Inventors of Mesopotamian Thrashing Black Metal - MELECHESH will enter Woodhouse Studios (Samael, Grip Inc, Therion, Moonspell etc.) in Hagen, Germany to record their Fourth full length album in January 2006. The Mixing will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands with renowned producer Attie Bauw (a.o. Judas priest, Halford, Scorpions, Fight .). The tracking will take 3 weeks and mixing circa 2 weeks. 'EMISSARIES' is the chosen album name and some track titles are: - Sand Grain Universe - Deluge of Delusional Dreams: - Act I. Cast Tempest From the East - Act II. Ashur's Retaliation - Touching the Spheres of Sephiroth 'Emissaries' will include approximately 10-11 tracks that will clearly carry the MELECHESH flag thematically and musically. When asked on the subject matter Ashmedi stated "The album will encompass what MELECHESH have always stood for: Sumerian/Mesopotamian and other dark Near Eastern mythos and mysticism including the cosmic connection and the Occult. Musically the songs will have the MELECHESH characteristic sound with a variation and evolution just like we have done for every album; I am now busy with the pre production and demoing the last couple of songs , however, I prefer letting the music speak for itself". 'Emissaries' is tentatively scheduled for a release circa April/May 2006 through Osmose Productions for Europe and the rest of the world(s), in North America the release will be through Osmose Productions /The End Records.

| NEW MELECHESH DRUMMER REVEALED The Mesopotamian thrashing black metal act MELECHESH have just publicized their new drummer . Quoting founding member Ashmedi: ”we are very glad to announce the addition of Xul to the MELECHESH Djinn union; Xul is a tremendously talented drummer with outstanding technical ability”. MELECHESH has been working on new material with Xul for the last year, prior to this he performed with the band at various gigs and festivals where he proved his drumming capabilities by offering flawless and exceptional performances. On this XUL commented: “I am honored to finally be part of this cult. Playing with MELECHESH is an enriching experience both on a musical and on an ideological level”. MELECHESH are not playing the X Mass fest in the Netherlands and Belgium As stated by founding member Ashmedi: 'being forced to make our appearances FOR FIRST TIME EVER IN THE BENELUX as an opening act for the festival in the after noon at 16:30 in The Netherlands and in Belgium at 13:30 is simply not right!' Despite audience anticipation, an explicit agreement with Metallysee (the booker/ concert organizer) and MELECHESH 's motivation, enthusiasm and interest to give one hell of a show, the band and their record company Osmose Productions were left with no choice but to cancel their appearance on the Benelux X Mass fest. It is very rare to have a situation where a band has three albums out, have been around for over 11 years and a growing fan base yes still haven't played in The Netherlands or Belgium. This is the case with MELECHESH ! MELECHESH agreed to play X Mass provided they get a good spot which will enable their fans and supporters too see them (early appearance means people are stuck in traveling and standing in lines and such)! Metallysee agreed that they will provide MELECHESH a fair and reasonable spot on the condition that Melechesh declines all gig offers in the Benelux prior to The X Mass Fest. MELECHESH kept their end of the agreement and indeed declined all offers prior to X Mass, now Metallysee Insist that MELECHESH open the festival on the small stage around 16:30 (first band to play the small stage) in Holland and at 13:30 first band in Belgium. And Metallysee refuse to give the band a more suitable and adequate stage time. It is a classic situation where an agreement is broken in the final moment. MELECHESH knows there will be people coming to the fest especially to see them and the band feels it is their responsibility to inform these people that they will not play these shows. If you have any complaints or remarks please feel free to email the bookers of the concert because they are the cause of this metallysee@pandora.be. MELECHESH refuse to make their premier appearances in the Benelux as an opener, the band aren't even getting concert fees (only transport costs) and the band still agreed but to be opening the show, is not right. Should Metallysee reconsider the band's stage time and ensure that everyone will have an opportunity to see the band and not be stuck in traffic or trains or lines outside and such, then band will be more than willing and very glad to perform. Regardless of the outcome, Melechesh wishes all the other bands performing at X Mass the best of luck and success with their shows Finally, MELECHESH will immediately start making arrangements to set up a special premier live appearance in Holland and perhaps Belgium stay tuned www.melechesh.com |

MELECHESH are
currently at Andy La Rocque‚s Los Angered Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden recording
their 3rd album for Osmose Productions titled "Sphynx." Some song titles that
will be featured on the album are: "Incendium Between Mirage and Time," and
"Of Mercury and Mercury," "Apkallu Counsel," and "Secrets of
Sumerian Sphynxology." In the latter part of December, the band will master the album
at Bauwhaus Studios in Amsterdam, Holland by Attie Bauw. His mastering work is best known
for such acts as Judas Priest, Rush, Scorpions, Halford, Fight, and notorious others. Ron
Woodall, who has worked for George Lucas‚ Industrial Light and Magic, has illustrated
the cover art as well. (Graphic designer of Star Wars, Dragonheart, Jurassic Park, Etc.)

On June 23rd, Proscriptor McGovern was involved in serious hand/wrist injury, which has forced him to quit playing drums for at least a couple of months. His orthopedic surgeon says that the scaphoid bone in his wrist has been completely shattered and will take reconstructive surgery to mend it back together. This means that the upcoming albums by ABSU ("Absu") and MELECHESH ("Sphynx") will be postponed and recorded at a later date, according to drummer/vocalist himself. In other news, Proscriptor is preparing to release a new 7" picture-disc vinyl titled "Thoth Music(k)" for the new California-based label Defenestration Records. The record will contain two exclusive cover tracks from the early to mid-Seventies era reflecting his character and facade. In other words, this is pure occult rock music. Also, ABSU will be re-releasing their debut album, "Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L," on full-length picture-disc vinyl through Bestial Onslaught Productions in the US as well. The first 200 copies of this collector's edition will include a t-shirt, insert, sticker, and button. Both releases will be available this autumn in 2002. For more information, be sure to read here:
