Enslaved's first full length is a five song, majestic romp through a more honed form of Norwegian Extreme / Black metal and stands as one of the band's finest pieces of work. All five songs are long and harness a great epic feeling throughout. The band utilizes synthesizers, piano and guitars to strong effect, often conjuring a very trancelike state through the blur of the wall of guitar sound. The song arrangements never allow the length of the song to hinder enjoyment of the music. A double disc set containing ultra rare tracks from the bands debut “Hordanes Land”.
