Born in France in 1999, Malefice has solidified its original sound over the years, largely fueled by Summoning, but going beyond it and creating its own heavy atmosphere that is increasingly demonstrated in its works. Hexenkartothek was recorded in 1999 and released in 2017 for the first time in a limited edition after the release of their first album, "Le monastère des hommes en noir". Hexenkartothek is a unique work; more raw, dirty and with a more primitive atmosphere, it is by far the most differentiated work compared to the band's subsequent and current proposal. However, the moment in which it was recorded is of paramount importance, because at the end of the 90s France began to stand out with new names and music beyond the underground, heavier and with more unique nuances, moving away from the lines of Le Legion Noir, which always remained obscure and with dense lines, but very close to all the bands of that period.
